How Do I Get My Appliances Ready for the Move?

Is Moving Insurance Required to Cover My Move?

It is not insurance, but it does provide coverage to repair or replace anything that is lost, damaged, or destroyed while in their care.
Is My Property Insured Against Loss or Damage While It is in Transit?
All shipments are automatically provided with a minimum level of protection worth 60 cents per pound. J.W. Cole & Sons of Florida, Inc., on the other hand, recommends Full Value Protection (FVP), which guarantees repair or replacement in the event that an item is lost or damaged.
How Do I Make a Claim?
You can file a claim if an item is lost, damaged, or destroyed during the move. We will offer a settlement to compensate for this loss or damage if the claim is filed within nine months of the shipment’s delivery date.
Atlas Accepts What Forms of Payment?
J.W. Cole & Sons of Florida, Inc. will collect payment before unloading your goods at your destination, or you can pay when they are loaded onto the truck. We accepts cash, credit card, and check payments.

How Can I Keep Track of My Shipment?
You have access to the Atlas® Customer Portal as an Atlas customer, which is a free online application where you can build your profile, track your shipment, make a payment, and access moving documents.
What is the Maximum Weight?
We provide a number of moving programs to accommodate your budget and weight requirements. Military members moving under Personally Procured Move (PPM) policies will receive a payment of 95% of what it would cost the government to arrange the move. This moving allowance, or entitlement, is determined by rank, dependents, and other factors. We are prepared to assist you in meeting your needs based on your entitlements.
What Items Are Not Permitted to Be Packed? Are Firearms Allowed?
If your shipment contains firearms, you must notify Atlas prior to your move. All firearms must be unloaded, have legible serial numbers, and be packed in your Atlas Professional Van Operator’s presence. Atlas recommend that you consult this guide as you begin packing for your Atlas move.
When Will Atlas Provide a Delivery Estimate?
As an Atlas customer, you have access to the Atlas® Customer Portal, a free online application that allows you to track your order and moving date, build your customer profile, make a credit card payment, and access moving documents all in one location.
Where Do I File a Damage Claim? How Much Time Do I Have to File a Claim?
Fill out a claim form through the Atlas Customer Portal, a one-stop moving command center where you can easily manage your full-service move. You can also find additional claim information for both domestic and international moves on this page. Except in the following cases, claims must be received by Atlas within nine months of the shipment’s delivery date:
- For shipments moving under the authority of a Government Bill of Lading;
- For shipments moving solely within Texas, where the claim form must be received within 90 days of delivery; and
- When Atlas and the party paying for the transportation have agreed to a different time.
